All year round, from spring to summer, from autumn to winter, Azienda Agricola Filippino opens its doors to visitors because the hill of Serra Capelli is something to be seen and experienced during every season. Individual visitors or groups may visit the cellars and the vineyards, learning firsthand about the antique vine-cultivating and winemaking techniques, extending their experience and formulating their opinions.

Filippino Winery is located in the heart of the District of Neive, among the rolling hills of the Langhe zone, a land of great wines and ancient wine-making traditions.

Thenů, it's tasting time. Both technical and accompaniment tasting sessions are held, during which the wines of the House of Filippino are presented, often accompanied by traditional salami, cheeses and desserts produced in the surrounding area.

"Allier" oak barriques of 225 and 500 litre are used for Barbera "Vigna Veja" and Barbaresco "Sorý Capelli"'s ageing.

Our cellar is equipped with temperature-controlled stainless steel vats which are used for vinification of all the wines and storage of young wines like "Dolcetto".

In the Fifties, his son Domenico realised that the results could be improved if the grapes were transformed into wine. They decided to make wine from the grapes produced by the estate vineyards and between the end of the eighties and the beginning of the nineties, the winery further increased its activity and began bottling its own wine. Today, Elio Filippino, son of Domenico, continues the tradition with great respect for the einvironment and meticulously runs the estate dedicated almost entirely to the cultivation of vines, helped by his mother Lucia, his sister Ivana and his wife Miriam.

On the right bank of the river Tanaro, about 12 kilometres from Alba, the steep hills around the village of Neive are characterized by compact sub-soils created over millennia. Here, in the hamlet of Serra Capelli in the early nineteen hundreds, when the vine was already well cultivated, Evaristo Filippino began an experience with the production that was to continue and develop. The estate only produced grapes at that time, selling them to others wineries

The estate consists of two quality wine-growing areas: Serra Capelli and San Cristoforo. In total about 10 hectares are cultivated. The wines are sold to both private customers and traders, i.e. importers and restaurateurs.
The estate produces the traditional wines of the region: Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Rosso, Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbaresco and Barolo, as well as two white wines: Moscato d'Asti and Langhe Arneis. The limited and strictly controlled production aims to high quality standards. The position of the vineyards and the winery which faces the vineyards is open to wine enthusiasts who climb the hill to reach the winery from all over Europe.

The name Neive comes from an aristocratic Roman family called "Gens Naevia" who was the owner of the village. Neive belongs to the route of the "Mosta beautiful Italian villages", and the Italian Touring Club awarded Neive with the "Orange Flag", a guarantee for high quality standards with regards to facilities and environment.
